Getting your venue, restaurant, or business on McAllen Next is free and automatic. Here's what you need.

What Your Place Needs

McAllen Next imports content automatically from Facebook and Instagram. There is no application, no form to fill out, and no cost. If your place meets the requirements below, it can appear on our site.

Have a Public Facebook Page

Your place must have a public Facebook page—not a personal profile and not a private page. This is how we find and import your posts, events, and basic information. If your page is set to private or restricted, we can't access it.

Set a Facebook Page Username

Your Facebook page needs a username (sometimes called a vanity URL). Without one, our system cannot identify and collect your content. A username also makes it easier for people to find you on Facebook—for example, facebook.com/yourplacename.

Post Regularly

We look for places that post at least once a week. Regular posting keeps your content fresh on McAllen Next and gives visitors a reason to check out your page. The more consistently you post, the more visibility your place gets on our site.

Link Your Instagram (Optional)

An Instagram account is not required, but if you have one, make sure it's listed on your Facebook page. We'll pull content from both platforms, giving your place even more presence on McAllen Next.

What's Next

Once Your Place Is Listed

Once your place meets the requirements above, your social posts and information will begin appearing on McAllen Next automatically. There's nothing else you need to do—just keep posting on Facebook and Instagram as you normally would.

If your place is listed and you'd like to feature events, there's a separate set of requirements for that. Events are also imported automatically when they're set up correctly on Facebook.
