Not to single any of them out but select retailers across other states decided to report our midnight events, thus leading Marvel to send us one final email, joining DC and saying “no more Midnight Releases.” You know how neighbors call the cops on you when you’re having a birthday party for your family? This situation is similar to that except it’s not our neighbors that called the cops. It’s people who live in other states. Either way, although we can’t have midnight releases, that doesn’t mean we can’t have a midnight party right? You think we’re going to let people try to break our community? Of course not! And to those retailers who reported us, because we know you’re going to see this, don’t worry; the new comics won’t be for sale at midnight. We’ll have other things cooking instead that’ll continue to bring our community together. And to everyone from all over the valley, Texas, other states, and other countries who have given us your support, we say THANK YOU. The only reason we’re not giving up is because of YOU.

You guys thought we were going to just give up on the midnight releases? The support that we’ve received from everyone, not only people in the RGV but somehow, this has reached a global audience from people out of state and even out of country. Your support has made fighting for these community events a lot easier. And yeah, there’s a bit of hate in the comments too, and I’d lie if I said your hate didn’t boost it for us either, but no need to give you that satisfaction. Either way, it looks like something might just work out after all. However, there will be some extra protocol and large detail on how these will be run. Just give us a bit as we work out the logistics. As for now, tonight’s midnight release is still canceled. But we’re working on the future ones so stay tuned for that. Again, on behalf of Issac, Ramsey, Roy, and all of us at Kaboom, we would love to share our greatest gratitude for the community for all your support with us and these events. It has come to our attention that someone has reported our midnight releases to both DC and Marvel with some misinformation. As we work on resolving this issue, it is with great sadness that we have to cancel this week’s midnight release. Future midnight releases are still up in the air as we try to resolve the issue with Marvel/DC. We’re not sure who reported us but whoever it was, isn’t too happy with the events we host.
