#TBT to the Old Main Library, which opened its doors 74 years ago on May 28, 1950. Dedicated as a tribute to honor McAllenites who served and died in WWII, the building began with the Children’s Department and grew over time to include a mezzanine and a third floor for administrative offices. Before our current home, this 34,000 sq. ft. space was where generations of readers discovered their love for books. Its legacy lives on in every page turned and story shared at McAllen Public Library today.

We understand financial situations come up and we are more than understanding, but letting us know beforehand helps ensure that these books end up selling for us. If the books end up not being picked up later, the chances of someone purchasing them weeks (even months later) are low. All we ask is that if you do sign up for one, and comics are held for you, please make it a point to purchase the comics that are pulled. If you don’t plan on picking them up, we recommend not subscribing to them, not creating a pull, or just letting us know asap that you would like to cancel. Right now, it’s just a couple $4 books but at the end of the month, it really does add up. It’s never fun making these posts but unfortunately we have to sometimes. For those of you that make it a point to purchase your pulls regularly, we truly do appreciate you and you guys are the reason we’re still here doing these things. From first serves to final spikes, the court was full of good vibes! 🙌🔥Huge thanks to all who came out to play!
